Basics:Face Claim: Kevin McKidd
Name: Owen Richard Johnson
Age: 36
Gender: Male
Species: Werefox
Height: 6’0
Fashion: Working man. Owen tends to wear Jeans and t-shirts for his everyday attire when he’s not in his paramedic uniform or geared up in the heavy pants and coat of a fire fighter.
Physical Description:
Owen is a tall man built like a wall. He has broad shoulders and bright blue eyes. There's always a bit of scruff on his chin, and he keeps his ginger red hair short. Oftentimes he’ll not quite buzz cut it, but it’s very close. He has a few scars on his hands and torso from his time at war, but he’s never experienced critical wounds while in action. As a field medic, he was always patching up others.
-Personality-Description: Owen is...blunt. Rather abrasive as well. He doesn’t do stupid, to put things nicely. If he thinks your an idiot, he’ll let you know. He’s arrogant as well, especially when it comes to his job. He’s rather good at what he does, and there’s a strong confidence there. Owen struggles with relating to people in terms of mental health. He was raised that you couldn’t have feelings or emotions because they were considered weak. He can be very pushy and is a take charge kind of guy. If something is wrong, he’ll fix it in the way he thinks it should be fixed.
Loyal to a fault, Owen is actually a rather nice guy. Heck, he can even be a perfect gentleman. He likes to joke around and have a good time like the rest of the guys. He’s willing to help out someone in need, and genuinely cares about his friends, even if he's a bit of an ass. He’s very protective of his daughter and will do anything for her. After serving in the marines for multiple years and finally retiring, it’s left him as a man who needs a plan. He’s very organized and knows what he wants and how to get it. Despite some of the horrors of war that he’s seen, Owen was one of the lucky ones. As soon as he got home he sought out treatment for any PTSD he might have had, and joined a group to help talk about some of the things he’s seen. It certainly helped him out, but he doesn’t understand how anyone could not seek out the help they need.
Habits/Hobbies:
Fishing, going on hikes with his daughter. He likes to read when he has time, loves a good steak, likes going on runs in his fox form.
History:
Owen is Originally from Ohio, and had a normal upbringing. He was an only child, and certainly spoiled. He was an all star in highschool and did lots of sports. If he didn’t want to be a marine so bad, he might have pursued a career in football. Enlisting in the marines, Owen wanted to be where he could be of most use. Having a drive to help people, he became a field medic and pursued training in that.
It wasn’t long before he met his wife Rebecca while in the service. They were both young when they married, and it wasn’t long before they welcomed their daughter into the world. Owen did several tours before him and Rebecca divorced. It was certainly a struggle, trying to make sure he got to spend time with his daughter when he was home. About five years ago he found himself with one of the squads that did explosive detection before the troops were sent in on missions. It was during this time he met Paige Anderson, the combat dog handler. The two were fast friends, as they had a shared secret from the rest of their squad. Paige was a werewolf, and he was a werefox, and the two naturally watched each other’s backs. It was from Paige that he learned about Xander’s Cross, as it was her home town in Oregon. She never shut up about it, and he told her he'd visit one day.
Whether she realized it or not, Owen soon grew to have feelings for her, but due to their conflict of interest of being in the same squad, he never acted on those feelings. When they were sent in to clear a particular area, they found themselves in an ambush, and under heavy fire. They one man to the gunfire, and two more to a landmine that had gone off. Owen had nearly lost Paige as she had thankfully not been as close to the landmine as the others when it had deployed, but she was badly injured. Doing what his training had taught him to do, he managed to ger her stable enough for transport and out of there before he lost her too.
Despite the heavy losses, Owen understood it was a price to pay for war, only...Paige couldn’t handle it. And rather then returning after she’d healed from her injuries, she had switched branches and gone into the Army. It was a blow Owen wasn’t prepared for, but he let her do her own thing. After another tour he came home to find out Rebecca had jumped ship so to speak. She didn’t want to play mom anymore, and dumped their daughter on Owen. He was angry at first, and rightfully so, for what she had done to their child, but Owen stepped up. Deciding he was done being a marine, he packed up him and kid and moved.
To Xander’s Cross… After hearing Paige talk about it so much, he thought he’d see what all the talk was about. They’ve been in Xander’s Cross a little under a year now, and Owen works as a paramedic and Firefighter, while his daughter is just entering her Sophomore year. Owen never told Paige he was moving to Xander’s Cross, but has been keeping an eye out for her since he moved there. He has no idea about what happened in her last deployment or that she’s back home.
Family/Friends:
Daughter - 15 years old
Neighborhood: Gardenview
Secret: The real reason Owen and Rebecca divorced was because she cheated on him. He prefers to tell people they just didn’t see eye to eye, and doesn’t talk about much it actually hurt him, as Werefox’s mate for life.
