It was rare when Blake actually went out for dinner. Mostly because he liked to cook so much, but there were those days when Cal would bale on him for Friday night dinner, and it was those nights that Blake treated himself. Especially to a good bowl of gumbo that he’d yet to perfect from Yvonne’s Ame. From what he knew of the place it had only been around Xander’s Cross for the last few years. Cal, surprisingly wans’t a big fan of the Voodoo vibes the restaurant gave off, and chose not to eat there if he could help it. Which, in turn made Blake give him a hard time about it.
He was just coming out of the store, styrofoam to-go box in a plastic back with a good chunk of cornbread in tow. He could see someone with their hands full approaching the door, and he moved quickly to try and hold the door open for her, but she was already stepping back, and just as Blake was turning to hold it open, she went toppling down over the curb.
Well it was good thing there was a doctor around.
He quickly moved his bag to one and hurried forward. He was wearing his glasses that night, having already removed his contacts once he got home. A wide grin suddenly spread across her face at the use of her pick-up lines, and he chuckled as he bent down, setting his dinner on the curb before he was reaching out to help her up. “I guess I’m walking a thin lime with you then aren’t I?” He asked. Blakes lopsided grin appearing on his face. “Sorry ‘bout that, you moved too quick for me.” He told her. If she allowed, Blake would gently help her to her feet, glancing down at her shoes which had been the culprit. “Is that ankle okay? Sandals can be quite deadly.” He voiced. Funny he was wearing practically the same thing…
Dr. Carson was not dressed for the office, in fact he was dressed down for once. Wearing a pair of red basketball shorts that hit him just below his knee cap, a black t-shirt with the sleeves cut off, and his black ball cap that had the lakers symbol on the front, facing backwards on his head. A few strands of his brown hair fell on his forehead. He glanced to where the limes had made their escape, and he quickly jumped into action to start picking them up for her. It was the least he could do since he’d unintentionally made her lose her balance.
