Xander's Cross, Oregon: a small town ringed with forbidding mountains and misty forest. The sky may be gray, but the townspeople are welcoming to people of all kinds...and things that are not quite human as well. Here the native shifters, aliens, werewolves, and witches live in peace. They have yet to find out the new business owners encroaching on the land are also vampires.
The peace has been broken by murder, however, and things in Xander's Cross are about to become quite a bit darker.
Welcome to your new home.
is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

-Basics-
Face Claim: Tyler Young
Name: Asher Carlisle Bishop
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Species: Human (1/2 witch)
Height: 6' 0"
Fashion: Like his brother, Asher dresses for comfort rather than flash, preferring muted/dark colors, blue jeans, and converse. Much of his clothing has some form of art medium on it from charcoal to acrylic paint. He can often be seen with a camera hanging around his neck. A prized possession is a brown leather jacket decorated in patches gifted to him from his brother.
Physical Description: While he and Auggie are fraternal twins, they still look very much alike. Asher is a lean young man of medium stature. His skin tans more than his brother's and he has dark brown hair and brown eyes. Best descriptor for those eyes- sad.
-Personality-
Description: Secretive. Shy. Introvert. Thoughtful. 'Tortured artist' (Auggie's words) . Insecure. Where Auggie's anger reacts outward, Asher reacts inward. However, he is not a doormat. So, basically, yes, he may be Bambi, but he will fight you if pushed. Only person he truly trusts is Auggie, seeming to handle his twin's abrasiveness with deft surety, as though acknowledging that his brother is a sarcastic shit yet understanding that he doesn't really mean it, not with Asher at least. Theirs is a special bond, always has been. Asher can tell when Auggie is in trouble and vice versa. There is an instinct between them not easily defined.
Habits/Hobbies: Juts his chin out to look tougher. Bits lips and crosses his arms when nervous or insecure. Drawing, painting, and photography are his passions.
-Background-
History: Neither Asher nor his brother really knew much about their father. Their mother told them wild stories but, as she was so often high on drugs, it was easy to doubt her word. She said that their father was a 'wizard'. A magician. A 'witch'. Auggie laughed. Deep down, even Asher doubted. The only thing they didn't doubt was the fact that their father had cheated on his wife with their mom. Even before she realized she was pregnant with the boys, he'd already abandoned her, going back to his wife and daughter, the twins' half-sister.
As early as he could remember, Asher knew he was different. At an early age, he realized he was gay and came out with the support (and defense) of his twin brother. In high school, Asher fell in love with a straight (closeted) boy who broke his heart, kissing him in secret and then bullying him in school during the week. Auggie put a stop to it. Growing up without a father and, essentially, with barely half a mother, Asher and Auggie more or less raised each other as they moved from one shithole apartment to the next. When word came that their father had died, their mother went on a bender, ending up in jail for possession and being under the influence. So as not to be separated, the boys refused foster and stayed with friends or in a group home. However, Asher once looked up their older sister, finding her name for the first time, a woman he had never met. Auggie didn't want him contacting her, so he didn't.
On that last night, their mother's current boyfriend/dealer/pimp began bullying Asher. Auggie defended him and got a punch in the face. So their mother killed him. Even though the boys refused to testify, there was enough evidence to lock her away, first in rehab, then directly to prison. That's when social services finally called up the one family member they had left, a half-sister they had never met. As things in school were still hard for Asher, the move suited him just fine. So long as he and Auggie were together...
Secret: Both him and Auggie witnessed their mother murdering her boyfriend when she caught him abusing the boys. They both refused to testify. The boyfriends body has never been found though she has been charged and sentenced for his murder. Though Asher was out in his previous school, he debates whether or not to come out in his new one.
